The job itself
Kirk Ella St Andrew's Primary School is seeking a reliable and hardworking Caretaker to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the school premises remain safe, secure, clean and well maintained for pupils, staff and visitors. Hours of work are 1.30pm to 6.30pm, daily.
This is an important position within the school, requiring a responsible individual who takes pride in maintaining high standards and supporting the smooth running of the school environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Locking up the school premises at the end of the day.
2. Setting and checking the school alarm system.
3. Ensuring all buildings, gates and external areas are secure.
4. Carrying out daily cleaning duties to maintain a clean and safe environment.
5. Conducting routine checks of the site and reporting any maintenance issues.
6. Ensuring health and safety procedures are followed at all times.
7. Supporting with basic site tasks as required.
The Successful Candidate Will:
8. Be trustworthy, reliable and punctual.
9. Have good attention to detail and take pride in their work.
10. Be able to work independently and manage their time effectively.
11. Have a good understanding of health and safety responsibilities.
12. Ideally have previous caretaking, cleaning or facilities experience (desirable but not essential).
