Project Management Industrial Placement – Leading UK Infrastructure Project
About the Opportunity
Our client, a major player in the UK’s energy sector, is offering an exceptional 12-month industrial placement within their Project Management team. This opportunity sits at the heart of one of the country’s most ambitious low-carbon infrastructure developments, giving students the chance to make a meaningful contribution to the nation’s net-zero ambitions.
The placement provides hands-on involvement in a fast-moving, high-profile construction environment, where participants can develop essential leadership, coordination, and project delivery skills alongside industry experts.
The Role
Placement students will play an active role in managing and supporting critical workstreams, gaining exposure to real-world project challenges from day one. Responsibilities may include:
* Assisting with the planning, coordination, and delivery of project packages.
* Supporting teams with risk management, issue resolution, and performance tracking.
* Contributing to safety initiatives, engineering support activities, and operational improvements.
* Applying academic knowledge to practical situations while developing a deeper understanding of large-scale project management.
Participants will be guided by experienced mentors and collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, helping to deliver tangible results that shape the future of UK infrastructure.
Location
This placement is based in the Bridgwater area, with roles available at the main construction site or a nearby delivery centre. Both sites are integral parts of a nationally significant energy project that will supply low-carbon electricity to millions of homes.
Candidate Profile
Applicants should be working towards or have completed a degree (2:2 or above) in a relevant discipline such as Project Management, Civil or Mechanical Engineering, or a Science-related field.
Ideal candidates will be motivated, organised, and eager to learn in a high-performance environment. A strengths-based assessment process will allow applicants to demonstrate what drives them and how their abilities align with the organisation’s values.
Applicants must also have the legal right to work in the UK for the duration of the placement.
