We’re working in partnership with a specialist SEN school in Shrewsbury that is seeking a committed and capable Teaching Assistant to join their team. This full-time role presents a rewarding opportunity to support children and young people with a range of complex additional needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, sensory processing difficulties, SEMH needs, and physical or medical conditions. About the Role The role centres on providing consistent, tailored support for pupils in a structured and nurturing environment. Working closely with teaching staff, therapists, and the wider SEN team, you’ll help deliver individualised learning programmes and assist pupils in accessing the curriculum in ways that suit their needs. Your responsibilities will include: Supporting pupils on a one-to-one basis or in small groups, both in and outside of the classroom Assisting with the delivery of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and behaviour support plans Helping to create a calm, safe and inclusive learning environment Supporting pupils with communication and regulation strategies, including sensory and emotional needs Building strong, trusted relationships with pupils, offering encouragement and consistency Working collaboratively with the wider school team to support whole-child development What We’re Looking For We’re seeking someone who is reliable, reflective, and resilient—someone who understands the importance of calm, consistent support in helping children feel safe and ready to learn.
