Double days role 6am-2pm/2pm-10pm. This position requires a time‑served CNC Setter with proven experience machining aluminium diecast components on high‑speed 5‑axis machines. Reporting to the CNC Senior Setter and supporting the Production Supervisor, the CNC Tech/Process Engineer works independently and collaborates with Production, Quality and Maintenance to ensure optimal CNC operation.
Responsibilities
* Support production on a daily basis.
* Competent in running CNCs and all aspects of machine performance, fault finding and diagnostics.
* Maintain hydraulic fixture operation, clamping repeatability and machining position to casting.
* Change tools, track tool life and investigate tool breakages.
* Monitor part quality, adjust offsets and improve process capability.
* Develop and maintain process documentation and assist in the generation of SWIs.
* Set procedures and standards.
* Drive TPM and 5S.
* Train, mentor and guide others on how to operate equipment safely and correctly.
* Other related duties as determined by the Process Engineering Manager or Process Engineers.
* Promote the company’s HSE policies across the department and plant.
Qualifications
* Apprentice served or formal college certification.
* Proven CNC machine setting in a JIT production environment.
* 5‑axis high speed machining of aluminium castings.
* Demonstrate suitable problem‑solving techniques.
* Programming G&M codes, preferably on Siemens controllers.
* Strong understanding of tooling and fixture design principles.
* Delivery of training.
Desirable Experience
* Experience within the castings sector.
* ABB robot operation, straightening processes and programming.
* Experience with the function and purpose of straightening presses.
* Use of 5S to improve the production environment.
