Band 6 Specialist Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist
We are looking for a Band 6 MSK Physiotherapist to join the MSK Outpatient Physiotherapy service at the Royal Free Hospital. The role involves providing high‑standard physiotherapy to musculoskeletal inpatients and outpatients across 6 monthly rotations, including MSK outpatients, hand therapy, rehabilitation groups, and long‑term conditions. You will work autonomously, assess and treat patients with acute, chronic, or complex presentations, and maintain treatment plans, records, and statistics. A Band 7 Physiotherapist will supervise.
Main duties of the job
* Deliver specialist MSK physiotherapy to referrals from Orthopaedics and Rheumatology.
* Provide hand therapy, lumbar, shoulder, knee and other group rehabilitation sessions.
* Work independently to manage own caseload and maintain accurate clinical records.
* Collaborate with Advanced Physiotherapy Practitioners, Orthopaedic and Rheumatology teams.
* Support research, audit and continuous improvement initiatives.
Person Specification
Education and professional qualifications
* Degree or graduate diploma in Physiotherapy.
* HCPC registration.
* Certificate in clinical specialty and management training.
* Commitment to advanced clinical and professional development.
* Member of CSP.
Experience
* Post‑registration experience in musculoskeletal services.
* Evidence of clinical reasoning, problem‑solving and CPD portfolio.
* Teaching/education of colleagues or public groups.
* Research or audit contribution that informs departmental improvement.
* Strong knowledge of clinical standards and audit processes.
* Experience managing junior staff or students.
* Experience within a rotational scheme.
* Ability to lead group sessions.

Salary: £47,951 to £56,863 per annum (inclusive of HCAS).
