Medical Secretary

We are lookingfor an enthusiastic and dedicated individual to provide a comprehensiveadministrative and medical secretarial service with the Early InterventionDementia Service based at F Block, Kidderminster Hospital, Kidderminster as a MedicalSecretary.
The core working hours of the team areMonday to Friday 9-5 and the post is 22.5 hours per week, which can be flexible.
There are opportunities to developspecialist skills and you will receive regular supervision. The role will bevaried providing the successful applicant with an opportunity to gain valuableexperience within Older Adult Mental Health Services.

Main duties of the job
A typical day will include:
* Answering/ dealing with telephone enquires in a tactful and professional manner, recording any messages efficiently.
* Carryingout any digital dictation / copy typing duties for the medics using Big HandDictation.
* Makingappointments as required and ensuring diaries are up to date.
* Keeping RIO(the patient electronic information system) up to date.
* Identifying urgenttest results.

Job responsibilities
The successful applicant should have aminimum of 2 years administrative / secretarial experience and minute takingexperience.
The successful candidate should have bothorganisational and interpersonal skills with the ability to work well underpressure. As the successful candidatewill be dealing with patients, relatives and other healthcare professionals onthe phone /email, applicants must have excellent communication skills and will be expected to have a courteous and efficient telephone manner. The successful candidate must be a good teamplayer and enjoy working within a multidisciplinary team. The team is busy, but supportive with a focuson staff well-being and development.

Qualifications
* OCR/RSA 3 qualification or equivalent in Text/Word Processing, or equivalent experience.
* Relevant Level 3 Medical Secretary qualification (e.g. Medical Terminology) or equivalent qualification or experience, or Relevant Level 2 Medical Secretary qualification (e.g. Medical Terminology) or equivalent qualification/experience, with considerable recent Medical Secretary experience and will be expected to undertake the Level 3 qualification on appointment to post.
* GCSE at grade 9 4 (*A-C) or equivalent in English language.
* I understand that I will be asked to provide original certificate to verify my qualifications at point of offer.
Additional Criteria
* I understand the Trust will not provide sponsorship to work for this role, and employment on a time limited visa doesnt guarantee sponsorship at point of expiry.
