Permanent | Major Water Infrastructure Projects
Our client is a leading engineering contractor operating at the forefront of the UK water sector, delivering flagship regional programmes that are critical to long-term infrastructure resilience and environmental improvement. As part of continued growth across major frameworks, they are now looking to appoint an experienced Senior Buyer on a permanent basis.
This is a key commercial role, supporting large, complex engineering projects and working closely with delivery, commercial and supply chain teams to ensure best value procurement across the programme.
The role will involve:
* Managing procurement activities across high-value engineering and construction packages
* Developing and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and subcontractors
* Leading tender processes, negotiations and contract awards
* Working collaboratively with project teams to align procurement strategy with programme delivery
* Supporting and mentoring junior buyers where required
* Ensuring commercial, contractual and governance compliance throughout the supply chain
The ideal candidate will have:
* Proven experience as a Buyer or Senior Buyer within construction or engineering
* Strong understanding of procurement across major infrastructure projects
* Experience managing suppliers and negotiating complex packages
* A collaborative, proactive approach with strong commercial awareness
Experience within the water sector is desirable but not essential - candidates from wider construction, civil engineering or infrastructure backgrounds are strongly encouraged to apply.
