Disability Support Worker or SEN Nanny needed for G24 who lives at home with us in the family home. We are seeking someone with the experience, knowledge and skills to plan and engage our daughter in a range of in-house and local community activities, as well as support her to access local disability groups. You will be proactive, enthusiastic, resilient and experienced in adhering to support plans, care plans and routines and schedules and understand the importance of adhering to these for individuals with autism to support anxiety and maintain regulation. Responsibilities would include supporting our daughter to attend her day classes, planning fun and engaging activities (including community trips), planning and supporting in the preparation of healthy/balanced meals and assisting her with personal care and life skills. We are looking for someone who: - Has experience supporting children or young adults with SEN. - Has experience working in a private home. - Is fun, resilient, reliable, proactive, and discreet. - has very good spoken English ( makaton a bonus) - Feels confident working independently on a one-on-one basis and collaborating as part of a wider professional care team and with family members. - Understands the importance of routines and schedules for a young adult with ASD. - Has a 'muck in' attitude to support the running of the house (a cleaner is also employed). - Is comfortable with dogs and enjoys playing with/keeping them company. An animal lover is ideal as the family will soon move to a more rural home with additional animals. - Is a confident driver, preferably with their own car and business insurance ( use of an automatic car can be arranged for use when on duty if not) - Is seeking a long term role We offer: - Flexible arrangements (full-time, part-time, job share, or rota). - Term-time-only contracts if needed. - Live-in accommodation if required. - PAYE benefits (SSP, pension, holiday entitlement). - A busy, professional family home where you will have autonomy. - Pay well above minimum wage - neg based on experience/qualification A DBS can be arranged if you do not have one, relevant references will be required.
