Offer description

About Bolt Bolt is a fast-growing digital pharmacy. We're building the infrastructure to deliver safe and affordable access to private prescription treatments. We launched in 2023 and have already grown into a fully licensed, fast-moving community pharmacy, operating both in-person and online and serving thousands of patients. We offer the lowest-cost GLP-1s in the UK because we run on At-Cost Pricing: our patients pay exactly what we pay. No inflated margins. No hidden fees. Just radical price transparency and access to wholesale medication costs. We believe these medications should be available to anyone who needs them, and our model is designed to make that happen. GLP-1 medications are a f*ing big deal. We’re in a remarkable and rapid period of change that’s reshaping how healthcare works. Our mission is to accelerate the global take-up of GLP-1 medications to help solve obesity worldwide. We’re a young startup, part of Embedded Medical, and we’re just getting started. This is still Day 1 — and all our work is ahead of us. Being a Superintendent Pharmacist at Bolt You’ll lead the clinical and operational side of the pharmacy — from prescribing and team management to building the systems that keep things safe and scalable. This is a build-systems-from-scratch role. You’ll report directly to the Saim (UK Pharmacy Lead) & work closely with our prescribers, dispensers, and support team. You’ll wear multiple hats: clinical lead, team manager, day-to-day problem solver. As our Superintendent Pharmacist and Registered Manager for CQC, you’ll take full ownership of legal operations, service quality, and regulatory compliance across the board. You’ll be responsible for legal operations under GPhC regulations, provide expert guidance to the team, and take an active role in prescribing and daily pharmacy ops. Key Responsibilities Right away: Being the responsible Pharmacist in line with GPhC standards. Prescribe medication during high-volume periods or complex cases. Lead our clinical dispensing team (prescribers, dispensers, customer support) Oversee day-to-day pharmacy operations — from handle customer escalations to tech issues and anything else that keeps things moving. Review and rewrite SOPs, policies, and protocols to match how things actually work. Prepare and lead on GPhC inspections, audits, and quality systems. As the Pharmacist & Registered Manager for CQC: Lead the day-to-day running of the service, making sure care is safe, high-quality, and centred around the people we support Make sure we're always fully compliant with CQC regulations and any other legal requirements Oversee hiring, onboarding, and training, and support the team’s growth and development Keep our records sharp, stay on top of statutory notifications, and make sure we’re always ready for inspections Handle safeguarding, health & safety, and risk management to keep both patients and staff protected Build strong relationships with patients, families, external partners, and regulators Keep an eye on budgets and resources to make sure the service runs sustainably Handle complaints and incidents in a calm, thoughtful, and regulation-aligned way Need to Have GPhC-registered pharmacist, with at least 3 years post-registration Independent Prescribing Qualification Experience in a community pharmacy setting Management experience — you’ve led a team, handled inspections, written SOPs, and owned tough decisions Confidence to make decisions without constant input Nice to Have Experience in a GP practice or online pharmacy Knowledge of GLP-1 medication Experience improving or automating operational systems Our cultural standards These are the core cultural standards to which we hold ourselves & our team-members at Embedded: Belief in the mission: We will have served 10 million patients by the end of 2028 and we transform the life of most patients who join. We have a lot of work to do. We are obsessed with our patients and are dedicated to the mission. Unwavering integrity: We are at the frontier, so we often live in ambiguity with no trodden path. When we can’t look to others for guidance, we must maintain impeccable ethics and unwavering integrity. Only the paranoid survive: Bad sh*t is coming. By joining us, you’re choosing to sail straight towards the storms with unhesitating conviction. However much we’ve already done, however far we’ve already come — it’s still Day 1 and all our work is ahead of us. Your life’s work: This will be your most challenging, most rewarding role of your life. You’ll be shocked how capable you are & how much you can achieve. If we’re average we fail: We are only interested in “insanely great”, a focus on the quality of our execution that in everyday life would be considered pathological. We have a dedication to excellence and reject incompetence. Commitment to candor: That which can be destroyed by the truth should be. You get full transparency from the company and the company expects full transparency from you. We never say anything about someone that we wouldn’t say to them directly. We give feedback with love and do not need to protect people from fleeting physical sensations. A maniacal sense of urgency: We execute at an intensity that most people think is impossible. Speed is critical and we need things done yesterday. We all work very hard and in such a competitive world there really is no other way to win. Enduring frugality: We are frugal. We hate being wasteful and we are anti-luxury. A culture of cheapness keeps us young. We spend our cash wisely & carefully — in a way that would make our grandmas proud. Bulldozing barriers: The world is malleable and we shape it. We truly believe this and act accordingly. We are relentlessly resourceful and are at the mercy of no-one but ourselves. Keep your head down: We’re boring people doing exciting work. We don’t chase short-term status — we ignore short-term dopamine hits and focus on what matters. Outsiders will underestimate us and we revel in that. The power of focus: We live in a world of power laws and we cannot overestimate the unimportance of practically everything. Know your One Thing, and nail it. “You just build a f ing amazing experience. Make each step amazing. Make every decision in the long term interest of the customer. Give the customer massively more value than you take.”* Compensation & Benefits Compensation : £75k–£100k inc equity Vacation : generous time-off with a yearly minimum Professional development : budget for books, courses, coaching ($600/yr) Personal wellness : budget for gym, health apps ($600/yr) What are we missing? We're still early so you get to shape our culture. How to apply Apply on Ashby or the platform you are in.
