About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and driven Business Development Lead who excels at building long‑term client relationships, spotting high‑value opportunities, and contributing directly to commercial growth. This role is ideal for someone who combines professionalism and attention to detail with an entrepreneurial, proactive approach.
You will work as part of a collaborative BD team, engaging with senior stakeholders, driving new business, and ensuring an exceptional client experience throughout the engagement lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and deliver the business development strategy in line with organisational goals.
Build and maintain a high‑quality network of senior contacts across Private Equity, Corporate Finance, Investment Banking, Accountancy, and CFO communities.
Partner with senior delivery teams to scope opportunities and craft compelling proposals.
Plan and lead sales meetings, ensuring internal stakeholders are fully prepared.
Conduct a targeted volume of face‑to‑face meetings and calls within named accounts.
Use networks, corporate finance news, and market intelligence to identify high‑value prospects.
Carry out detailed background research on individuals and organisations to tailor outreach.
Manage designated accounts to ensure excellent client satisfaction and repeat engagement.
Work closely with BD colleagues to maximise activity, coverage, and overall success.
Oversee the engagement process from proposal through to engagement letter, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Maintain accurate prospecting records within CRM systems, ensuring GDPR compliance.
Keep CRM data consistently updated to support seamless cross‑team collaboration.
Gather post‑project client feedback to support continuous improvement.
Represent the organisation at relevant networking events and industry forums.
Person Specification
Experience
Minimum 8 / 10 years' experience within a professional services environment (essential).
Proven success in achieving business development targets in a current BD role.
Experience in consultancy or advisory environments.
Must have knowledge of - Professional Services, Financial Services, Private Equity, or Investment Banking.
