System Analyst - 6 month Contractor
You will beresponsible for specification, configuration and development of internalsystems.You will work with IT Business partners, 3rd party vendors and end-users to support new and existing applications, proactively identifyingopportunities to better support business processes and manage regulatorychange.
How will I spend my time in this role?
* Analyse and evaluate the software and systems that the business utilises,identifying issues and areas for change and improvement;
* Query data and develop existing stored procedures;
* Update existing APIs and integrations;
* Create technical specifications and test plans;
* Write operational and process flow documentation;
* Consult colleagues concerning the maintenance and performance ofsoftware systems and with a view to writing or modifying current operatingpractices;
* Provide day-to-day technical and functional assistance to end users;
* Define systems requirements for new technology implementations,estimating work packages to stakeholders and deliver on time;
* Product ownership, and product roadmap strategy and delivery;
* Liaising on operational issues with 3rd party vendors, co-ordination ofsoftware releases, configuration changes, patches and bug-fixes,ownership of problems and incidents;
* Keeping Management and team members informed of progress using theappropriate ticketing systems.
What skills/experience do I need to be successful?
* Experience in a technical IT position andin IT Application Management or Development;
* Waterfall and Agile software development, understanding of the fullSoftware Development Lifecycle;
* Good understanding of C#;
* Thorough understanding of SQL (queries, stored procedures and functions)and its use in different environments e.g. MSSQL, Oracle, MySQL;
* Previous Energy industry knowledge and experience.
