Houston & Hawkes have an exciting opportunity for an experienced General Manager to work at our prestigious contract in Reading area.

General Manager Duties:
1. To plan, lead and execute the smooth delivery of all operations within the venue and ensure the highest levels of customer service at all time
2. Responsible for managing the daily operations of the restaurant, kitchen and hospitality onsite
3. Hold daily briefings with team to engage them on key messages and encourage discussion
4. Making sure we are meeting the standards required by the client
5. To ensure a 5* service is always delivered
6. Motivate and lead by example, ensuring you and your team have fun at work and are proud of your efforts
7. Seek opportunities to exceed customer and client expectations and increase the turnover
8. To assist as directed with all aspects of preparation and presentation of food to the company’s standard and ensuring adherence to legislation including HACCP
9. Monitor compliance with company and government regulations, regarding customer service, food preparation and serving, and building maintenance in the dining facility
10. Responsible for ensuring that all financial and administrative duties are completed accurately, on time and in accordance with company policies and procedures, banking reconciliation & till operations
11. To assist the compilation and delivery of various management reports in Word, Excel
12. To assist with the planning, organisation and delivery of events scheduled during the year
13. Look at up-selling opportunities
14. Day to day management of the ordering process and stock control
15. Working knowledge of HACCP & Health & Safety laws
General Manager Requirements:
16. Previous experience as General Manager within contract catering
17. Organisational skills with the ability to plan, prioritise, multi-task and work quickly and efficiently, ensuring deadlines are met irrespective of conflicting priorities
18. Positive attitude, professionalism and respect for others
19. Have the ability to display a real passion for food and customer service
20. Must be able to work within a team and without supervision
21. An excellent team player, able to communicate at all levels and commit to sharing your knowledge and skills within our team
22. Strong leadership qualities and excellent communication skills
23. Must be computer literate and have experience in using excel spreadsheets
24. Strong financial understanding and demonstrable budgeting management
25. Good understanding of report writing and financial management
26. Have creativity and a flair for marketing
