Sales ManagerROAVR Group · Inverness (fully office-based) · £35,000–£45,000Full-time, permanentWe are looking for a Sales Manager to join our Senior Leadership Team and run the engine room of our sales operation from our head office at Marr House in Inverness.ROAVR Group is a nationwide arboricultural and ecological consultancy.We help developers, landowners and planners get projects moving through fast, technically rigorous environmental surveys, delivered by a network of directly employed consultants. We are the only consultancy in the UK to fly drones daily, we run a podcast, we have published five best-selling books and our team has picked up a BAFTA along the way for their drone work.Now we need a sales leader to help us take the next step.The roleYou will lead a three-strong team of Sales Assessment Team. You will convert warm inbound enquiries into booked work, find and win tender opportunities that fit our ideal client and spot high-value prospects in the pipeline so we reach out before the competition does. You will report directly to the MD and sit on the Senior Leadership Team.On a typical week you will* Run the team's daily stand-up and weekly pipeline review.* Coach your three direct reports - helping them turn technical enquiries into clean, commercially sensible quotes.* Quality-check higher value quotes before they go out and personally handle the strategic ones.* Research live tenders and frameworks, qualify them in or out with the MD and lead the response.* Monitor incoming leads for perfect-fit prospects and pick up the phone to them instantly.* Report weekly to the SLT on pipeline, conversion and risks.You will be a strong fit if you have* Managed a B2B sales or sales/admin team that deals with inbound warm leads and technical quotes.* Hired, coached and performance-managed direct reports.* Written and won tender responses.* A good commercial instinct - you know how pricing, scope and conversion move the P&L.* The confidence to pick up the phone to an ideal-fit prospect and open a conversation.* CRM fluency and a habit of making decisions from data.* The ability to work from our Inverness office five days a week.* You know who Dan Kenedy is!Industry experience in arboriculture, ecology, environmental, planning, construction or infrastructure consultancy is a bonus but not a requirement. We will teach you the technical side.
