Band 6 Specialist Speech & Language Therapist

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for Band 6 Specialist Speech & Language Therapists to join the Acute team across the 2 Acute Hospitals, and the Community Adult S< team.
You will join a team of Speech and Language Therapists who are situated within the Acute S< team as well as a larger countywide team of Adult Speech & Language Therapists and Support Practitioners.
These are substantive posts with the opportunity of full-time and part-time working, across the acute and community pathways within Adult Speech & Language Therapy countywide, offering an opportunity to develop skills across a variety of caseloads/disorders.
All staff are encouraged to attend regular team meetings, countywide staff meetings, and in-house clinical forums. The service promotes a strong culture of clinical supervision. Professional development is encouraged through membership of relevant Clinical Excellence Networks, in-house and external training courses, monitored through annual appraisal.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will be an experienced Speech and Language Therapist (SLT) with specialist knowledge of differential diagnosis in adults with speech, language, and swallowing difficulties, and experience working with patients across various pathways.
The post holder will work within the Adult Speech and Language Therapy team to manage a complex caseload comprising a range of adult clients with various differential diagnoses.
The post holder will supervise SLT Assistant Practitioners and volunteers.
The post holder will provide clinical teaching of SLT students and participate in the development and delivery of specialist SLT training to others.
Being a car driver is essential. There are two location teams to cover within the county.

Person Specification
Qualifications (Essential): Recognised degree in Speech & Language Therapy; Evidence of successful completion of a Specialist Short course e.g., Dysphagia.
Qualifications (Desirable): Membership to CEN/SIG.
Experience and Skills (Essential): Evidence of clinical experience as a qualified SLT in relevant fields; Evidence of specialist knowledge/skills from experience/CPD; Ability to organise workload, manage time, and prioritise clinical and non-clinical tasks.
