You will: Plan and deliver engaging, adaptable lessons that support emotional regulation, communication, and academic development Use small-step assessments linked to EHCP targets to track progress and inform planning Collaborate closely with teaching assistants, therapists, and external professionals to provide a holistic learning experience Implement positive behaviour support strategies rooted in co-regulation and restorative practice Contribute actively to safeguarding, pastoral care, and multi-agency working to protect and promote children’s wellbeing Support reintegration and transition planning for children moving between settings Engage in ongoing professional development focused on SEMH, trauma-informed practice, and therapeutic approaches About the Candidate We are looking for a nurturing, resilient, and reflective teacher who is deeply committed to the success and wellbeing of children with SEMH needs. You will be: Passionate about understanding behaviour as communication and skilled in relational, low-arousal approaches to support children’s emotional regulation Experienced in delivering personalised, scaffolded teaching that meets diverse communication and learning needs Knowledgeable about trauma-informed practice, safeguarding, and the primary curriculum Able to work collaboratively with families and multi-disciplinary teams, communicating sensitively and professionally Committed to your own professional growth and eager to contribute to whole-school improvement Emotionally regulated, adaptable, and driven by high expectations and unconditional positive regard for every child Qualifications such as QTS and SEN training are essential, with additional accreditation in NASENCO, Team Teach, or therapeutic approaches highly desirable.
