Role: Lifeguard/Leisure Attendant
Location: Lewes Leisure Centre
Hours: 39 hours a week (3-week rota, shifts include day, evenings & weekends)
Salary: £24,829.98 per annum

The Role
The key purpose of this post is to maintain constant surveillance of customers in the facility; acting immediately and appropriately to secure their safety in emergencies. You will provide emergency care and treatment until emergency medical services arrive.
Customer Service
The priorities are:
1. Provide friendly and efficient service to all customers.
2. Proactively promote the Centre to the public.
3. Respond positively to customer inquiries.
General Tasks
* Clean all areas of the Centre to ensure hygiene and cleanliness.
* Ensure users behave appropriately and take action if facilities are misused.
* Assist with continuous improvement plans.
* Maintain and update safety equipment, adhering to the Health and Safety at Work Act.
* Follow the Trust’s Health and Safety Policy diligently.
* Take responsibilities during Emergency Procedures.
Wet Side Responsibilities
* Supervise the pool area, assist swimmers, undertake life-saving operations, and apply First Aid as needed.
* Supervise changing rooms, showers, and related areas.
* Check chemical levels of pool water regularly and report issues.
* Prepare pool facilities for swimming lessons, water activities, and private parties.
* Assist in organizing water activities for children during school holidays.
* Maintain a National Pool Lifeguard Qualification and attend monthly staff training.
Dry Side Responsibilities
* Prepare facilities and equipment for use.
* Supervise and coach courses and sessions as required.
Other Duties
* Perform additional duties as required.
