We are looking for an experienced and reliable Vehicle Technician / Mechanic to join our busy workshop. The role involves working on a wide range of cars and vans, carrying out servicing, repairs, maintenance, and fault finding to a high standard.
We are an established commercial vehicles repair business, and while this role is primarily focused on cars and vans, there may be occasions where you are asked to assist with HGV-related work. This would not be part of your standard day-to-day duties, but flexibility and a willingness to support the wider team when needed would be appreciated.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who is practical, hardworking, and able to work well as part of a small team. We do not require MOT testing, but experience with diagnostics would be an advantage.
You will work closely with the business owner who is the Managing Mechanic. They oversee the workshop and will provide you with daily tasks, guidance, and support. As part of a small team, it is important that you can work confidently, use your initiative, and help maintain high workshop standards at all times.
*Key Responsibilities*
* Carry out routine servicing and maintenance on cars and vans
* Diagnose and repair mechanical faults
* Replace and repair components including brakes, suspension, clutches, exhausts, and timing belts
* Carry out inspections and identify additional repair work where needed
* Order required parts from suppliers for jobs you are working on when needed
* Help keep the workshop running smoothly and assist with daily job scheduling when required
* Support with HGV-related workshop tasks when requested
* Ensure all work is completed safely and to a high standard
* Keep work areas clean and tidy
* Work efficiently to meet workshop deadlines
*What We’re Looking For*
* Previous experience as a vehicle technician / mechanic
* Good knowledge of vehicle servicing and repairs
* Ability to work independently and follow instructions
* Strong work ethic and reliable attitude
* Full UK driving licence
* Diagnostic experience beneficial but not essential
