Overview
We are looking for a Speech and Language Therapist (SLT) to join our in‑house clinical team at The Shires – Stretton. You will work collaboratively with the education team to deliver bespoke Speech and Language Therapy assessment and intervention to pupils, including those with developmental trauma, neurodivergence or SEMH needs. The role is based at the Stretton, Rutland site (East Midlands LE15 7GT). The position is permanent, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver Speech and Language Therapy assessment and intervention within the OFG Speech and Language Therapy Ways of Working.
* Hold and manage an individual SLT caseload, with support from a designated clinical supervisor and Lead Clinician.
* Contribute to staff training, consultation and multidisciplinary team meetings to support pupil development.
* Develop and implement individualised support plans based on assessment findings.
* Provide communication and child‑developmental reporting to parents, carers and school staff.
Essential Criteria
* Undergraduate or postgraduate degree in Speech and Language Therapy.
* HCPC registered and registered with the RCSLT.
* Experience engaging and working with individuals presenting complex and diverse communication profiles.
* Knowledge of neurodiversity, trauma‑informed practice and multidisciplinary working.
* Experience communicating with families, carers and supporters.
* Strong relationship building, analytical and judgment skills.
* Excellent communication (oral and written) and time‑management skills.
* Competent in core areas of SLT practice and understanding of RCSLT Communication Standards.
* Knowledge of assessment tools and intervention strategies, and ability to formulate support plans.
* Knowledge of relevant legislation and its impact on clinical practice and professional management.
* Ability to collaborate as part of a multidisciplinary team.
* Willingness to attend training and obtain further qualifications relevant to the client group.
Desirable
* Understanding of sensory and motor differences that impact communication.
* Knowledge of the relationship between arousal levels and communication.
