The vacancy of Head of Service – Looked After Children has emerged at an equally challenging and exciting time to undertake this role as we continue to maintain high aspirations for our Children and Young People. The role reports directly to the Assistant Director – Children’s Services and is responsible for leading outstanding practice and innovation in the following services:
• Looked After Through Care Service – supporting our Children in Care and Care Leavers
• Looked After Children’s Resources – our fostering service, Children’s Homes and therapeutic services.
Our services for Cared for Children and Care Leavers were judged to be Outstanding at our most recent ILACS in October 2022, and we are currently piloting innovative services including Lifelong Links and Peer Mentoring as we strive to develop services further and enhance our offer to Children and Young People.
The Head of Service is supported by two Service Managers to assist and support in the provision of high-quality services to Children and Families. As part of the Senior Leadership Team, the successful candidate will work collaboratively to delivery our vision across all service portfolios.
We are ambitious and excited for the next stage of our service’s development and are seeking a highly motivated, experienced social work practitioner who is innovative and has a clear vision of what high quality social work practice looks like and can lead a service to deliver on their vision.
