Join Historic Royal Palaces (HRP) at a pivotal moment of growth as our Deputy Operations Manager – Schools & Communities.We have a new strategic objective to be a charity for everyone. To do this we are investing in the renovation of existing learning spaces, creating a new learning and community centre at the Tower of London and expanding the breadth and depth of our onsite and outreach provision for school and community audiences.
We’re looking for a highly organised and collaborative candidate to oversee the day-to-day administration for school visits, and lead our Learning Assistant team to deliver an exceptional experience for teachers, agencies, home educators, and community participants across all HRP sites, including the Tower of London, Hampton Court Palace, Kensington Palace, and Hillsborough Castle and Gardens.
You’ll manage key operational systems, and contribute to major new developments and growth in our school and community project work. This is an exciting time for the Schools & Communities department, with new activities being developed and more off-site and online programming under development. You’ll be integral to developing the processes which facilitate these activities. From systems management, to resourcing events, writing web copy, to working closely with key contractors - this role offers breadth, challenge, and the opportunity to make a tangible impact.
What we’re looking for:
We’re seeking someone with proven operations and systems management experience, ideally in a cultural, heritage, arts or education setting. You will be committed to bringing our shared history and heritage alive for ‘everyone’ and be a passionate advocate for our school, family and community audiences and programmes. You’ll be confident in fostering a motivating team culture, managing complex logistics, pro-actively problem solving, and familiar with data protection compliance. Strong communication, a commitment to excellent customer service, and the ability to lead a high-performing team are essential.
Flexibility to work across our London sites is essential.
An Enhanced DBS check and occasional weekend and evening working are requirements of this role.

Salary:£37,498 per annum pro rata
