Ready to help make a real difference behind the scenes? As a Cleaner at Horizon Youth Zone, you'll be a vital part of the team, making sure every corner of the building – from activity spaces and meeting rooms to corridors and toilets is spotless, safe, and ready to use
About the role
Your work will help create a welcoming, inclusive space for our members aged 8 to 19 (or up to 25 with additional needs), staff and visitors alike, making sure the Youth Zone is looking its best, every single day.
We're open evenings, weekends, and school holidays – and for many, this place is like a second home. Our cleaning team plays a key role in making sure it's a place they want to come back to again and again
Key responsibilities include:
* Keeping our Youth Zone clean, safe, and ready for action so that all the young people who use it can have a great experience.
* Sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming throughout the building to make sure everything is spotless and well-maintained.
* Cleaning and sanitising bathrooms, kitchens, and common areas regularly to ensure a hygienic environment is maintained for everyone.
* Tidying up communal spaces, making sure everything is in place, and creating a positive atmosphere.
* Working continuously to ensure health and safety standards are met across the building.
You will have experience of:
* Previous cleaning experience is advantageous, however if you don't have this, don't worry, we will train you. If you have experience in a working environment, even better.
* Basic understanding of the safe use of cleaning equipment.
* A basic understanding of Health & Safety and any issues that might arise when cleaning and relating to cleaning products and equipment.
* A willingness to work evenings & weekends with the flexibility, motivation and commitment to meeting the needs of young people at Horizon Youth Zone.
