Job Description
Navantia UK/Harland & Wolff are launching our first Summer internship. These are 6 week paid placement opportunities for undergraduates to work within the business.
The successful interns will be working on a System Installation Strategy for the build of Naval Logistic ships. This programme aims to allow interns to take part in process of deciding where, when and how each component should be installed, gaining insight about the key considerations to be weighted in, and help develop key skills in outfitting building strategy.
Scope of work
* Conduct complete system study
* Participate in team meetings to discuss relevant issues
* Work with production engineers to propose a comprehensive approach to the installation process
* Get feedback from all involved yards and consolidate final strategy
Objectives of the internship
* Understand system functionality and role in vessel operation
* Gain skills in team work and multi function collaboration
* Get a good understanding of shipbuilding processes
* Exposure to many facets of the business and assistance in a key deliverable for production
Qualifications
Ideally 3rd year undergraduates studying in either of the below:
* mechanical engineering
* electrical engineering
* naval architecture
* industrial engineering
