A London based think tank are looking for a Head of Events to join their established and collaborative team in their office in Westminster. This is a part time role, 3 days per week and days can be flexible. The hours are 9.30-6pm.
This is a brand new position so needs someone confident and experienced to make it their own. As Head of Events your main focus will be organising, running and expanding their week long fellowship programme as well as running other events throughout the year and maintaining their strong alumni network. The role would also involve the potential for presenting innovative ideas to the Senior Management Team about how to grow the programme and identify emerging talent throughout the country and in a broad range of sectors.
Your main responsibilities will include -
* Management of the main fellowship programme including,
* Oversight and coordination of the application process
* Booking and liaising with speakers
* Helping articulate programme goals and expectations while supporting individual fellowship needs
* Coordination of the programme, including pastoral duties
* Manage the programme’s budget, monitor expenditures, keep accurate financial records and ensure cost‑effectiveness in event, travel, and accommodation planning
* Develop promotional materials and outreach strategies to recruit participants and raise public awareness of the Fellowship.
* Attend recruitment fairs or relevant conferences as necessary and build relationships with relevant networks including universities
* Planning of other events throughout the year including sourcing and booking venues, approaching and liaising with speakers, managing invites and on-the-day coordination of events.
* Expanding the programme, which will include presenting innovative ideas to the Senior Management Team about how to grow the cohort and expand the organisation's ability to identify emerging talent throughout the country which could require some ad-hoc travel.
Person specification
* Experience in events management or programme management is essential
* Able to build and enhance strong relationships quickly with a range of different stakeholders including senior parliamentarians
* Highly organised and with the ability to multi-task
* Able to work independently, meet deadlines, and require little supervision
* Must be diplomatic and possess excellent inter-personal skills
* Above all else, keen to continue a successful career in events and confident in developing and maintaining relationships.
