Near Dudley, West Midlands, United Kingdom. Our client, established for more than 70 years and internationally renowned in precision stamping and pressing applications, is seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to join the Quality Division.
Location: Near Dudley, West Midlands. Reporting to the Quality Manager in an ISO9001, ISO13485, ISO14001 and IATF16949 accredited environment. The successful candidate will lead all aspects of the Quality Engineering function (internal and external) and take responsibility for APQP, resolution of internal concerns, customer complaint management and supplier quality.
Salary: to GBP39k + benefits, negotiable depending on experience.

Responsibilities
* Support internal manufacturing with QC tools, techniques, documentation, training and expertise and ensure adherence to internal, third party and customer Quality standards.
* Batch release process.
* Lead the APQP / PPAP process.
* Audit suppliers for compliance and develop improvement plans with suppliers.
* Review and improve new and existing suppliers in line with company procedures and requirements.
* Management and approval of supplier PPAP and supplier changes.
* Review supplier non-conformances and work with suppliers to close out issues (8D, 5 Why).
* Liaise with customers regarding supply of defective material.
* Undertake all aspects of Customer concern / complaint management.
* Lead improvement / corrective action processes in response to customer concerns.
* Review customer non-conformances and work with customers to close out issues (8D, 5 Why).
* Maintain and develop constructive relationships with internal and external customers, Quality and Supply Chain Managers, PVV Metrology Engineers, manufacturing teams, suppliers and engineering divisions.
Qualifications
* Qualified to HND level or above in a relevant manufacturing or engineering discipline; Chartered Institute member preferred.
* Experience of IATF16949 is essential with auditing experience; ISO13485 experience proving advantageous.
* High-volume batch manufacturing experience; ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
* Excellent communication skills at all levels; strong problem-solving skills and 8D root cause analysis experience in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
