Job Description & Responsibilities:
We are currently looking for a time-served Maintenance Engineer to join our team in Tipton on a permanent basis, working a double days shift (Monday to Friday). This is a hands-on role where you'll be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and efficient operation of plant equipment across the site.
Your work will include a mix of electrical and mechanical tasks, particularly focusing on:
Electrical maintenance and fault-finding on industrial boilers
Working with and repairing AC/DC motors, gearboxes, and pumps
Performing welding and fabrication as needed to support breakdowns or mechanical fixes
Diagnosing and repairing hydraulic and pneumatic systems
Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
Reacting to and resolving unplanned breakdowns quickly and effectively
Supporting production with ongoing equipment issues and ensuring minimal downtime
Keeping accurate records of maintenance work completed
This role is ideally suited to a practical, hands-on engineer with a strong understanding of both mechanical and electrical systems. No formal qualifications are required - we're looking for someone who is time-served, experienced, and confident working across a wide range of industrial equipment.
Requirements:
Strong electrical and mechanical skills
Welding experience is essential
Good knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, industrial environment
Proactive and reliable with a strong work ethic
