Shift Manager – Plastic Injection Moulding (Rotating Shifts) Location: Droitwich, Worcestershire Salary: £40,000 – £50,000 per annum Job Type: Full-time, permanent Hours & Shift Pattern: * 38 hours per week base (extended shifts common) * Rotating shift schedule: • Week 1: Mon–Thu 06:00–14:15 & Fri 06:00–11:00 • Week 2: Mon–Thu 14:00–22:15 & Fri 11:00–16:00 • Week 3: Mon–Thu 22:00–06:15 (approx. 33 hrs) About the Business Our client is an ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 accredited plastic injection moulding manufacturer, operating from a 52,000 sq ft facility in Droitwich. Established for over 50 years, they supply precision-moulded components to the automotive, construction, and leisure sectors. The business runs 24 hours a day with around 80 employees, utilising a range of modern Negri Bossi and Borche machines (500T–1300T) and a strong focus on quality, safety, and continuous improvement. The Role Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager, the Shift Manager will take ownership of shift performance, safety, and quality, leading a production team in a fast-paced, high-volume injection moulding environment. You’ll ensure production targets are achieved efficiently and processes are continuously improved. Key Responsibilities * Maintain the highest Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) standards at all times * Plan and allocate shift resources to deliver output to schedule * Manage operational KPIs including OEE, quality, and efficiency metrics * Drive a strong 5S and continuous improvement culture across the shift * Provide technical leadership in injection moulding operations * Support tooling changes, process troubleshooting, and problem-solving * Coach, mentor, and develop team members to achieve performance goals Candidate Requirements Essential: * Strong, hands-on knowledge of plastic injection moulding processes * Proven supervisory or shift management experience * Effective communicator with a proactive, team-oriented approach * Flexible to work rotating shifts and occasional overtime * Committed to safety, quality, and operational excellence Desirable: * Experience within automotive manufacturing or other regulated sectors * Understanding of IATF 16949 standards or LEAN manufacturing principles * Familiarity with automation, robotics, or process optimisation What’s on Offer * Salary: £40,000 – £50,000 (depending on experience) * Overtime paid at enhanced rate * Rotating shift allowance * Professional development and technical training opportunities * A stable, established, and well-run manufacturing environment * Genuine opportunity to influence operations and continuous improvement Location: Droitwich, Worcestershire Eligibility: Candidates must be eligible to work in the UK and able to reliably commute or relocate to Droitwich
