Job Title: Solutions Consultant
Responsible to: Solutions Consultancy Manager
Location: Milton Keynes / London
Contract Type: Full-time
Job Purpose:
As a Solutions Consultant, you are responsible for shaping and securing customer outcomes by designing commercially viable, technically sound solutions. You will work alongside Account Management to qualify opportunities, understand customer challenges, and translate these into clear, deliverable solutions that support both customer objectives and Air IT’s delivery capabilities. You will own the solution from initial engagement through to project handover, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and a smooth transition into delivery.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Engage with Account Management Team and attend customer meetings (virtually or in-person) to understand customer requirements in full
2. Perform remote or onsite audits and complete information gathering on customer environments as required to inform solution design
3. Design and then present back solutions to customers, tailoring them for the customer’s needs (both budgetary and practical)
4. Produce Statement of Work and Bill of Material Documents for Account Management to progress the opportunity
Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience:
Essential:
5. To be considered as a Solutions Consultant, you will need:
6. Experience of setting up and maintaining business system networks based on Microsoft technologies
7. Experience in Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 technologies and environments
8. Experience and understanding of the Microsoft licensing models (Including, but not limited to, Microsoft 365 and server licensing)
9. Experience in a technical support role
Desirable:
10. Microsoft accreditations/certifications
11. Vendor-recognised accreditations (e.g. vendor specific)
12. Experience with the following technology stack/vendors: Datto, Mimecast, Sophos (Networking), Ubiquiti, Cisco Umbrella
13. Previous experience in a Solutions/presale role
14. Previous experience in a project delivery role
15. Previous experience in an MSP
Skills, Abilities and Competencies:
Essential:
16. Strong presentation and customer service skills
17. The ability to plan, develop and document complex technical solutions with a holistic approach, putting the customer at the heart of what is presented/suggested
18. Suggest new and innovative approaches to solutions
19. Ownership of a Solution from initial engagement through to project handover
20. The ability to work to deadlines and manage own workload, taking initiative wherever required
