You will join a highly skilled team within the CS3 line of business and play a key role in back office operational technical support, for multiple Fast Jet Radar products; TNR, Captor-M and Captor-E. What you'll do as Senior Supportability Engineer; Deliver operational Radar support to internal and external customers. Providing performance reports to Project Management regularly Managing spares and repairs Liaising with various departments including logistics, export control and QA. Working with the design teams to understand forecast product reliability and provide analysis against in service support data. Analysing operational reliability data of equipment. Interrogating functional block diagrams, equipment drawings and, circuit diagrams to identify failure mechanisms. Analysing Failure Data, estimating cost of failure and determining root cause. Working with internal and external customers in establishing support strategies and conducting of support modelling tasks. Feeding into bids and proposals, providing input to designing support strategies. Working closely with senior systems, QA and test engineers to identify and resolve support related problems on complex systems. Contribute to continuous process/procedural improvements to help drive out the cost and reputational consequence of failure. Understanding the Customers' operational needs to help guide the development of support solution capable of meeting the needs of future operational environments. Mentor, coach and develop more junior members of the team We would like to hear from you if you have a combination of the following: Degree in a relevant engineering or science discipline, or equivalent. Worked in the defence industry or have other relevant experience applying the principles of Supportability engineering and standards. Experience in front line technical support Our team use Excel and Word and a considerable level of expertise with these would be highly desirable. Experience of gathering, analysing and drawing insights from data Ability to communicate concepts and strategies in a non-technical way Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders from a wide range of organisations, disciplines, cultures and seniority Self-motivated with an aptitude for problem solving and driving challenging issues to conclusion Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills, with an ability to influence and adapt according to changing demands Intrinsic factors. This role is based at our Edinburgh site, with the ability to use Custom (Hybrid) working to balance on and off-site working As CS3 is a geographically dispersed line of business, the role is likely to include monthly travel within the UK, and potentially abroad, to support team and customer meetings.
