We are looking for experienced and confident staff to work with Emilia. Emilia lives in her own flat in Saltdean, Brighton and has one to one, 24-hour staff support. Emilia has her own car, so a driver is preferable but not essential as she happily uses all forms of public transport and enjoys walking.
Emilia likes bubbly, funny and confident staff who take part in activities with her. She enjoys being active and attends football sessions with Brighton and Hove Albion, as well as trampolining, playing basketball and tennis. Emilia also enjoys going to music gigs and the theatre
English is not Emilia's first language so she needs staff who are able to understand other ways of communicating such as body language, gestures, pictures as well as using key words.
Whilst Emilia does like to be busy there are times when she may disengage and withdraw. Staff at these times need to be happy in their own company – keeping a listening ear out for when Emilia is ready to get involved.
