Reporting directly to the Senior Regional Logistics Manager, the role of Distribution Manager is responsible for managing deliveries across the Midlands, leading a team of delivery planners and Customer Service teams. Working closely with contracted haulage drivers, internal stakeholders, and external suppliers, the Distribution Manager is also responsible for:
1. Developing relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to support the effective implementation of the Logistics strategy and ensure high customer service levels.
2. Managing and motivating staff, reviewing performance, building employee capability, supporting professional development, and enabling employees to contribute effectively to the business.
3. Providing robust customer service, understanding the difference between compliance and service.
4. Optimising the distribution schedule to maximize productivity and ensure 'on time/in full' delivery to meet customer needs.
5. Providing monthly performance reports and creating solutions to address underperformance or issues for business improvement.
6. Identifying and implementing cost-saving opportunities within the distribution department to ensure economical sourcing.
