Location: NottinghamshireShift: Nights (Monday - Thursday, 6:00pm - 4:30am)Salary: Starting at £18.62 per hourThe RoleAn experienced Fabricator / Plater is required to join a leading structural steel manufacturer based in Nottinghamshire.Working as part of a skilled fabrication team, you will be involved in the manufacture of large-scale steelwork for major infrastructure projects across the UK, including bridges, gantries, transport structures, and other heavy engineering applications.This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established business with a strong reputation for delivering complex structural steel solutions to the road, rail, and transport sectors.Duties and ResponsibilitiesFabricating and plating heavy structural steel components from engineering drawingsMarking out, assembling, and preparing steelwork to required specificationsWorking with thick gauge mild steelManufacturing bridge sections, gantries, and associated structural steelworkCarrying out dimensional and quality checks throughout the fabrication processWorking safely and efficiently to production schedulesAssisting in other areas of the workshop when requiredThe CandidateTo be considered for this role, you must:Be apprentice trained or time-served as a Plater / FabricatorHave previous experience working with thick gauge mild steelBe able to read and interpret engineering drawings with minimal supervisionHave experience fabricating heavy structural steelworkPossess a strong work ethic and a commitment to qualityBe willing to support other departments when requiredDesirable SkillsOverhead crane experienceStructural welding/FabricatingPositional weldingTigFlux-CoredSpot weldingThe ClientOur client is a highly respected structural engineering and steel fabrication company specialising in the design, manufacture, and installation of complex steel structures for the transport and infrastructure sectors.
