Job Purpose / Overview:
The
Senior Finance Manager / Financial Controller will play a pivotal role in the commercial finance function of Angling Direct's market leading omni-channel retail organisation, that is listed on the AIM market.
The Financial Controller is tasked with overseeing the extensive variety of duties undertaken by the finance department, including key balance sheet reconciliations, cash management, VAT compliance, and supporting the preparation of interim and annual reports and audits.
Reporting to the Group Financial Controller and supporting the Chief Financial Officer, the role would suit an individual looking to join a growth business at a pivotal time and who would thrive in a multi-faceted, fast paced financial control / reporting focused role. The role has exposure to multiple stakeholders internally (e.g. finance team, senior leadership and main Plc board, Plc audit committee) and externally (e.g. nominated advisor, auditors, tax advisors).
Job Responsibilities:

Management reporting
– preparation of timely and accurate management accounts and other KPI reporting, with insightful analysis and commentary

Interim and annual reporting
– support the delivery of the Plc's reporting obligations for the AIM market in terms of the annual and interim reporting requirements, including the delivery of timely and efficient audit / review process with the independent auditors

Financial control / systems
environment
– ensure a robust, effective and risk appropriate control / systems environment is in operation and aligned to the FPPP (financial position and prospects procedure)

Treasury
– lead treasury activities including the maintenance and development of a robust rolling cashflow forecast model and managing the FX hedging strategy
·
Budgeting
– build budgets, forecasts and scenario modeling to provide the business with robust and comprehensive data, analysis and insight to evaluate its forward flightpath.

Indirect tax
– maintain the indirect tax (VAT, import duties, etc.) record and preparation / submission of returns for the all Group companies
·
Adhoc reports and analysis
– undertaking financial analysis and reporting based on contemporary issues facing the business at any given time
Required Qualifications & Experience:
· Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA)
· Ability to quickly understand the financial / commercial workings of a business
· Strong commercial outlook
· Curious mind with an ability to think creatively to solve problems and propose solutions with a data driven approach
· Demonstrable track record at navigating tight deadlines and managing changing priorities
· Ability to work across an organisation as well as with various stakeholders, internally and externally
· Experience in a similar commercial business role, with Plc reporting, detailed technical knowledge of IFRS accounting standards, multi-site reporting and/or multi-currency consolidations, an advantage
· Expert user of finance / commercial tools and systems, with advanced Excel skills (essential) and Epicor (or other similar ERP systems) and/or SQL knowledge a strong advantage
· Available to work in the Rackheath (Norwich) Head Office for a minimum of 4 days per week
