Position Overview:

Major Job Functions:
* Preventative Maintenance Servicing: Carry out routine servicing of equipment in line with manufacturer guidelines, including routine oil sampling (75%)
* Machine Inspection: Conduct visual and mechanical analyses of machine conditions, identifying developing issues with systems and components (20%)
* Minor Repairs: Complete minor repairs identified during inspections, install telematic systems, and perform undercarriage inspections (5%)

Working Conditions:
This is a field-based role, and it’s essential that all drivers have held a full driving license for at least 2 years. (Eligibility will be subject to a full DVLA license check)
Working Hours: 43 hours per week with flexible start and finish times. Your working pattern will be Monday to Friday, with one Saturday in three at an overtime rate.
Specific Skills Required:
A basic knowledge of the four main product elements—Engines, Hydraulics, Powertrain, and Vehicle Electrics/Electronics—is essential for servicing and repairing heavy mobile plant or similar vehicles (e.g., Heavy Goods Vehicles).
Accountability:
You will be responsible for:
* Attending customer locations as directed by the controller to perform preventative maintenance servicing.
* Liaising with the service controller and customers throughout the process.
* Ensuring all work meets high standards and that equipment is safe before returning it to the customer.
* Completing all associated paperwork accurately and promptly, including recording customer signatures.
* Caring for company vehicles and equipment.
Education and Experience:
We’re looking for candidates with either:
* Direct experience (around 3 years) in a related engineering function (e.g., car mechanic, HGV fitter, Agricultural Engineer, former REME) or
* A formal apprenticeship qualification that includes at least C&G level 1. Training in health & safety is desirable but not essential, as further training will be provided.
