The achievers and courageous challenge-crushers we seek, have the following characteristics and skills: Education Requirements: Degree or equivalent in an engineering discipline (mechanical, aerospace/aeronautical, manufacturing, preferred). Capability Requirements: Familiarity with structural FEA, strength of materials, fracture mechanicals, impact dynamics, and system dynamics. Material science familiarity covering metallics (aluminium, titanium, steel, copper, magnesium alloys), forgings, castings, sheet metal, welded/brazed fabrication, additive manufacturing. In addition, the engineer must be capable of performing the following mechanical design tasks: Ownership of mechanical design and analysis of assigned components. Collaborate with support functions as required (stress, heat transfer, lifing, materials, systems engineering, programs, product definition, test & validation). Ensure assigned components meet, cost and weight, DfX (design for excellence) and all other technical requirements. Familiarity with requirements of REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals). Coordinate with Product Definition to ensure all geometry, tolerances, specifications, drawing notes, etc. meet customer standards and system requirements (i.e. assembly stack-ups). Generate change in design documents to change drawings and parts lists as required. Write Design Study Summaries (Design Definition Record), Technical Memorandums, Coordination Memos, and Certification Reports as required to document design Interface with global engineering organizations and other internal design organizations as required to support design activity on assigned components. Computer Requirements: PC - based Windows applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), ANSYS Classic, UG NX, CREO, PLM Teamcenter, SAP, and other specified applications to complete mechanical design activities.
