We are currently recruiting for a Personal Advisor to join a dedicated Leaving Care Team, supporting young people as they transition into independent adulthood. The Role As a Personal Advisor, you will act as a corporate parent, providing consistent guidance, practical support, and encouragement to care leavers. You’ll play a key role in helping young people build confidence, develop life skills, and achieve positive outcomes in education, employment, and independence. This is a dynamic and meaningful position, where no two days are the same — you’ll be building relationships, responding to challenges, and celebrating successes alongside the young people you support. Key Responsibilities Build strong, trusting relationships with care leavers Support the development and review of Pathway Plans Help young people develop essential life skills for independence Coordinate services and ensure young people access the support available Work collaboratively with partner agencies and professionals Maintain accurate, up-to-date case records Provide flexible, responsive support including during crisis situations Act as an advocate to safeguard and promote the wellbeing of young people What We’re Looking For We’re looking for someone who is empathetic, resilient, and genuinely committed to supporting young people. Essential: NVQ Level 3 (Advice & Guidance, Health & Social Care or equivalent) Strong understanding of the challenges facing care leavers Excellent communication and relationship-building skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Good IT skills and time management Desirable: Knowledge of education, training, and employment pathways Experience working with young people or vulnerable groups Additional Requirements Willingness to travel across the borough Flexibility to work evenings and occasional weekends Enhanced DBS required (due to working with vulnerable young people) Why Apply?
