Role Description This is a full-time role for a Hydropower Engineer based in our Stroud office (Gloucestershire). We have an opportunity for an experienced hydropower engineer leading our project team with the feasibility, design, and installation of UK based hydropower projects. Renewables First is the UK’s market leading consultancy for the design and installation of hydropower systems. The successful candidate will manage our portfolio of development projects. This is a client facing position offering expert guidance in accordance with our company values. You will manage a growing team of engineers to deliver Renewables First’s objectives, on time and on budget. Taking technical and managerial responsibility for the team’s output, implementing company policies as well as developing team-level policies to improve the quality and efficiency of its deliverables. This position will report to the Senior Management Team, playing a key role in shaping the company’s development within the hydropower market. To maximise team collaboration and development the role is office based with site visits as required. Salary (excluding profit share): £35,000 to £45,000 (depending on experience) Job Requirements Experienced hydro power engineer with 5 years experience Degree-qualified with a mechanical bias Strong IT skills including CAD, data analysis and word processing Demonstrable practical skills Knowledge of electrics, renewables, consenting and project management essential Team management skills an advantage Design and specification experience of mechanical systems Technical analysis and concise report writing experience Able to develop policies and procedures to maximise efficiency Experience managing budgets, timescales and commercial contracts Driving licence
