The Junior Commis Chef supports the kitchen team in delivering high-quality food for members, guests, and events at the golf club. This role is ideal for a motivated chef at the early stages of their career who is keen to develop their skills in a professional environment serving members and the local community.
Key Responsibilities
· Assist in the preparation and cooking of food to the club's standards
· Support Head chef during service for members, bar meals, functions, and events
· Occasionally lead the kitchen service (Tuesday Light bite menu, Thursday Pie Night)
· Maintain high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness, and safety at all times
· Prepare ingredients and elements for larger functions
· Ensure correct storage and stock rotation of food items
· Ensure effective delivery of cleaning duties and maintaining a tidy kitchen environment
· Follow all health & safety and food safety regulations, maintaining our five-star food hygiene rating (FSA)
· Work as part of the wider clubhouse team to ensure successful service to members and guests
Person specification:
Essential skills and experience-
· Level two food hygiene certification
· Good communication and teamwork skills
· Flexible approach to working hours, including weekends and events
· A passion for food and a willingness to learn
