As a member of the Planning and Development service, you will be integral to capitalising on the significant development across the city and the arrival of HS2. The city has, and will continue to experience significant employment, housing and retail growth and this needs to be planned for, to accommodate development pressure alongside protecting and retaining the City’s natural and built assets. The service is at the centre of this ambitious growth programme, and we are seeking talented and driven people to deliver it. As a member of the Development Planning Group, you'll help plan and deliver big changes in the city. You'll be involved in various local planning and regeneration services and projects. Your tasks will include: Helping to create and implement planning and regeneration frameworks, development briefs, and area masterplans. Engaging with a wide range of stakeholders and our communities through consultations and negotiations. Working on projects across the city, providing support and guidance to major housing regeneration initiatives. Supporting neighbourhood planning processes. Helping to maintain the city’s development site pipeline. You'll also contribute to major corporate projects, help with Compulsory Purchase Orders (CPOs), seek funding, and ensure the proper use of S106 funds. Additionally, you'll promote the city's development opportunities to developers and investors and work closely with Business Improvement Districts, ward members, community groups, schools, and universities.
