Location: Sutton Coldfield (on‑site and community‑based work as required), with opportunities for remote working

Salary: Equivalent to Mid-top of NHS Band 7

About Evolving Families

Evolving Families is a psychology service committed to delivering thoughtful, evidence‑based, and relational support to children, young people, families, and the systems around them.

Our work is grounded in trauma‑informed, neurodiversity‑affirming, and culturally responsive practice. We work across health, education, community, and care settings, supporting services to become more psychologically informed and better equipped to meet the needs of children and young people.

We provide therapy, neurodevelopmental assessments, consultation, training, and specialist psychological support, with a particular interest in supporting children and young people whose needs do not fit neatly within traditional service models.

As our service continues to grow, we are seeking a Practitioner Psychologist to join our team for one day per week and contribute to both direct clinical work and the ongoing development of the service.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a newly qualified or soon‑to‑qualify Practitioner Psychologist seeking to develop a broad and varied portfolio of clinical experience within an independent psychology service.

The role is intentionally flexible and will be shaped partly around the successful candidate's interests, strengths, and areas for development.

The post is likely to involve a combination of:

• Contributing to neurodevelopmental assessments (Autism and ADHD)
• Conducting specialist assessment components such as ADOS‑2 and/or developmental interviews following training and competency sign‑off
• Delivering psychological therapy and intervention to children, young people, adults, and families
• Providing consultation to parents, carers, schools, and professionals
• Contributing to formulation, report writing, and feedback sessions
• Working collaboratively within a psychologically informed multidisciplinary network

This role would suit someone who enjoys variety and is keen to develop skills across assessment, intervention, consultation, and service development.

Person Specification

• Be registered, or eligible for registration, with the HCPC as a Practitioner Psychologist
• Be qualified or due to qualify within the next 6 months
• Have experience working with children, young people, adults, or families within psychological services
• Demonstrate strong formulation and communication skills
• Have experience in psychological assessment and intervention
• Be able to work independently whilst seeking support appropriately
• Demonstrate a commitment to evidence‑based, trauma‑informed, and neurodiversity‑affirming practice
• Hold a full UK driving licence and have access to transport suitable for community‑based work where required
