DN Colleges Group is looking for a Production Chef to join our Service Sector team at the Waterfront kitchen. This is a fantastic opportunity to combine your culinary skills with mentoring, helping students gain valuable experience while delivering exceptional service.
Actual Salary: £23,856.57 - £26,011.47 per annum
About the Role
As a Production Chef, you will oversee the daily operations of the Waterfront kitchen, preparing and cooking meals to a high standard. You will also play a key role in supporting learners, ensuring compliance with health and safety and food safety regulations, and contributing to innovative menu planning.
Essential Criteria
1. English and Maths at Grade 4 or above (or equivalent)
2. Level 3 qualification in a relevant subject
3. Recent experience working within catering
4. Ability to communicate effectively with staff and learners
5. Willingness to acquire new skills relevant to the post
Key Responsibilities
6. Prepare and cook high-quality meals for service in the Waterfront kitchen
7. Support learners in a real work environment, providing guidance and mentorship
8. Ensure compliance with health and safety and food safety regulations
9. Manage food orders and collaborate with the Head Technician on procurement
10. Contribute to theme evenings and open events, incorporating sustainable produce into menus

The LET’s Bloom Programme aims to connect our experienced and qualified teachers to share best practice and support continued risk-taking as we continue to add depth to our teaching craft. Teachers volunteer on this one year programme, working closely with the Learning Enhancement Team, capturing their experimentation in a journal.
