Property Surveyor

3. Hours: 37.5 per week
4. Salary: £47,000 plus £5,800 car allowance
Role Overview
You’ll ensure our homes are safe, compliant and well-maintained. As a Property/Building Surveyor in housing, you’ll manage a regional portfolio, leading inspections, repairs delivery and contractor performance to support residents to live independently.
Key Responsibilities
5. Deliver responsive repairs and minor works safely, on time and within budget
6. Carry out site visits, pre- and post-inspections, and quality checks to ensure compliance
7. Manage contractors, variations and complex repairs across multiple locations
8. Monitor and control WIP, SLAs and KPIs to improve performance and reduce backlog
9. Diagnose defects and deliver practical, cost-effective repair solutions
10. Ensure compliance with Building Safety Regulations, fire safety and HHSRS
11. Resolve damp, mould and condensation (DMC) issues in line with best practice
12. Manage complaints effectively, using insight to improve services
13. Provide technical support for incidents including fires and SUIs
14. Work with residents and teams to maintain safe, high-quality homes
Requirements
15. Experience in social housing, repairs, voids and contractor management
16. Strong knowledge of building pathology and health and safety legislation
17. Ability to manage WIP, data and multiple sites effectively
18. Strong communication and problem-solving skills
19. Degree (or equivalent) in building/construction (essential); MRICS/MCIOB (desirable)
