Principal Building Services Engineer (Mechanical) – Our Opportunity. We are looking to appoint a forward-thinking and solution focused Principal Building Services Engineer (Mechanical). This role is to join our dynamic team based in our vibrant, centrally located Nottingham office. You will be delivering exceptional technical and commercial solutions to a range of clients across the private and public sector; including education, custodial, defence, healthcare, leisure, data and commercial. Your core responsibilities will include: delivering portfolios of work across both the private and public sector, managing various contracts throughout; preparing designs, feasibility studies, technical reports, and contract documents. Carrying out building analysis and providing system design calculations. Liaising directly with Clients and Contractors. Ensuring projects are delivered accurately and on time. Providing mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers and graduate trainees. Compliance with Health & Safety requirements, practices and procedures.
Responsibilities
* Deliver portfolios of work across both the private and public sector, managing various contracts throughout.
* Prepare designs, feasibility studies, technical reports, and contract documents.

* Ensure projects are delivered accurately and on time.
* Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers and graduate trainees.
* Ensure compliance with Health & Safety requirements, practices and procedures.
About You / Qualifications
* HND/Degree in Building Services Engineering (Mechanical) or a related discipline, or equivalent professional qualification.
* Chartered Engineer (CEng) or Incorporated Engineer (IEng), or working towards this status.
* Significant experience in mechanical building services/HVAC design, including domestic water services, ventilation, heating, and cooling.
* Strong working knowledge of IES, Hevacomp, and AutoCAD; experience with Revit MEP is desirable.
* Comprehensive understanding of relevant legislation, including UK Building Regulations, as well as Low/Zero Carbon Technologies and BREEAM.
* In-depth understanding of construction industry design processes and procurement arrangements.
* Proven design skills across a range of sectors. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative and self-motivated approach.
* Experience in resource planning and management. Business development experience and the ability to build strong client relationships.
