Job Overview
We are seeking an excellent classroom practitioner with proven experience working with children or young people in educational or intervention-based settings for the role of Teaching Assistant / LSA / Learning Support Assistant / Education and Support Officer.
The successful candidate will support children individually, in small groups, or whole classes across core academic subjects, providing targeted 1-2-1 support or covering roles such as Form Teacher or TA as needed.
You will play a key role in the academic and pastoral development of all children, supporting their learning across various subjects and assisting with their specific needs across different year groups.
Responsibilities
* Support the school by covering the role of Form Teacher / TA as required.
* Provide targeted intervention lessons for students identified as needing extra academic, social, or pastoral support.
* Prepare lesson plans tailored to students' existing knowledge levels.
* Research and provide appropriate teaching resources according to school policies.
* Assist in collating class work for the school magazine.
* Create and maintain a stimulating learning environment.
* Contribute to the development of the school curriculum.
Candidate Requirements
* Minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics.
* Evidence of ongoing professional development in education or intervention strategies.
* Proven experience working with children or young people in educational or intervention settings.
* Experience implementing behaviour or learning interventions to support progress and attainment.
* Experience supporting pupils of all abilities to make excellent progress.
* Experience working collaboratively with parents, carers, and external agencies.
* Excellent planning, communication, and organisational skills.
* Understanding of child development and barriers to learning, including social, emotional, and behavioural challenges; knowledge of intervention strategies.
* Commitment to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion.
