Machine Tool Applications Engineer — £40,000 - £45,000 + Enhanced Pension + Healthcare Plan + Expenses

Responsibilities
* Understand and write CNC programs, mainly Siemens 840.
* Grinding / Machining components to drawing.
* Machine programming and setup for grinding of sample customer parts.
* Development of processes to optimise machine cycles.
* Installation of NC standard machine cycles and operational data.
* Full functional testing of machines made at Matrix, to internal test procedures.
* Prepare machine and associated equipment for PDI and installation at customers' works.
* Carry out full machine installation, test and customer training at customers' works, globally.
* Provide technical sales support to Matrix team, including time studies and tooling.
* Provide customers with after-sales technical support.
* Assist with product improvements / development.
Requirements / Qualifications
* Carry out duties in a safe structured manner, adhering to health and safety requirements.
* Must be open to travel and work at any of our global customer facilities.
* Excellent communication skills to train customers in the use of our machines and provide support.
* Good experience of programming and setting CNC machines.
* Experience with Siemens controls; grinding experience (Threads, Worms, Gears) would be an advantage.
* Capable of reading component drawings and working to tolerances (required).
* Experienced programmer / setter (3-5 axis) CNC machines; Siemens 840D is advantageous.
* Basic ability to read machine parts lists, assembly and mechanical drawings; basic ability to read electrical drawings is an advantage.
* Be capable of completing and submitting reports or documentation in a timely manner.
* Competent in the use of office software products and workstation use.
* Located in West Midlands; commutable from Redditch, Stratford-upon-Avon, Bromsgrove, Evesham, Warwick and surrounding areas.
