Salary: £43,000 – £53,000 8% Employer Pension ContributionHours: 35-hour working weekLocation: Leeds (Hybrid – 3 days office / 2 days home) What You’ll Be Doing: Leading the technical delivery of highways and/or drainage designs on medium to large projects Producing and checking drawings, calculations, and specifications to a high standard Providing day-to-day technical guidance and mentoring to engineers and apprentices Coordinating design inputs and managing workloads to meet programme deadlines Reviewing outputs to ensure compliance with standards, legislation, and best practice Supporting client engagement and contributing to design discussions and solutions Keeping abreast of regulatory changes and championing quality across the team What We’re Looking For: Essential: Chartered Engineer (CEng) / Incorporated (IEng) working towards chartership through ICE/CIHT. BEng/BSc or MEng in Civil Engineering. 7 years’ experience in highways engineering, with experience in managing other engineers or apprentices through projects. Proven track record in delivering highways projects, from design to construction. Strong capabilities in 3D Modelling Confident decision-maker with the ability to manage risk and resolve technical challenges Client-facing skills with experience in stakeholder engagement. Experience in mentoring and developing junior engineers and apprentices. Desirable: Experience across multi-sector; residential, commercial, education, or public sector highways projects. Experience in infrastructure engineering and land development engineering. Experience in drainage design Awareness of NEC/JCT contract administration and financial project management. Sewer modelling experience (Micro-Drainage / Causeway Flow / Info-Drainage) Extensive experience in highways design within a consultancy environment Proven ability to lead technically on complex infrastructure projects Advanced report-writing and design governance experience A proactive, solutions-focused approach to engineering challenges Strong leadership, communication, and mentoring skills Excellent software and technical design capability Full UK driving licence What’s In It For You?
