Head of Private Markets Operations / Head of Corporate Trust – Glasgow. Responsibilities
 * Strategic leadership with responsibility for shaping the UK Private Capital roadmap in alignment with global models, influencing business direction and growth.
 * Lead end-to-end client delivery by managing service teams, ensuring regulatory compliance, meeting KPIs and SLAs, and embedding a robust risk-and-control culture.
 * Mentor senior managers, design clear career ladders, and champion diversity and inclusion initiatives within the department.
 * Spearhead automation projects, standardise processes across fund accounting and loan solution services, and promote continuous improvement.
 * Act as the senior escalation point for clients, resolving complex issues and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships at all levels.
 * Collaborate with Global Private Capital teams on RFPs, new business pitches, and cross-border initiatives to enhance service offerings.
 * Oversee valuation of complex instruments within private capital structures, ensuring adherence to BVCA, ILPA, and IPEV guidelines.
 * Foster partnerships with fund sponsors, regulators, internal teams, and external partners to achieve shared objectives.
 * Champion transformation initiatives delivering operational efficiencies while maintaining client focus and results.
 * Support talent development by identifying skills gaps and implementing targeted training programmes.
What you bring
To excel as Head of Private Capital/Private Markets Operations, you will bring substantial expertise from Private Credit, Private Equity, Alternatives Funds, Custodians, Fund Services, or other third-party settings where teamwork drives success. You should have hands-on involvement with complex financial structures and deep familiarity with best practices. Demonstrated experience in managing large teams with a compassionate, inclusive leadership style is essential. Strong interpersonal skills for stakeholder engagement at all levels are required. Transformation project experience is valued, and a professional accounting qualification is advantageous but not mandatory if you can evidence comparable experience. Above all, a supportive leadership style is expected.
 * Experience leading large technically-focused teams within private capital or fund services environments emphasizing collaboration.
 * Deep understanding of private capital structures, fund administration processes, and valuation methodologies aligned with BVCA, ILPA, or IPEV standards.
 * Exceptional stakeholder management ensuring trust with fund sponsors, regulators, internal colleagues, and external partners.
 * Proven track record as a change agent delivering transformation projects with measurable operational efficiencies without compromising service quality.
 * Strong communication skills with a client-focused approach.
 * Results-oriented with empathy for team members’ needs, ensuring business goals are met and individuals feel supported.
 * Experience mentoring senior managers or designing career development frameworks for diverse teams.
 * Ability to champion diversity & inclusion initiatives in financial services.
 * Ability to work collaboratively on cross-functional projects across regions or disciplines.
