This is an opportunity to work with our multidisciplinary team of Property Consultants, Project Managers, Building Surveyors, Services and Sustainability Engineers, to deliver domestic (and some non-domestic) retrofit services, to assist our clients in delivering their net zero carbon strategies for their existing stock.
We are seeking a skilled Retrofit Lead to oversee our retrofitting projects from inception to completion. The Retrofit Lead will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of retrofit projects, including planning, budgeting, scheduling, procurement, and ensuring adherence to quality standards and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction management, project management, and a passion for environmental sustainability.
Role and Responsibilities
1. Lead and manage Ridge’s Retrofit offering, including the development of our Retrofit processes, procedures, templates, documents, etc.
2. Manage resourcing for Retrofit projects, including recruitment, line management, etc.
3. Lead business development for our Retrofit services, including marketing, networking, fee proposals, tender submissions, etc.
4. Lead and manage retrofit projects, including planning, budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
5. Collaborate with multi-discipline teams, including engineers, contractors, and other supply chain members, to ensure successful project execution.
6. Coordinate with our Property Consultancy team to undertake energy surveys (RdSAP data collection) and lodgement of EPCs, to maximise post-survey and retrofit opportunities.
7. Conduct site assessments and develop retrofit strategies to improve energy efficiency and reduce environmental impact.
8. Coordinate both in-house and sub-consultants required to undertake specialist services and testing.
9. Prepare project proposals, cost estimates, and feasibility studies for retrofitting initiatives.
10. Oversee procurement of materials and equipment, negotiate contracts, and manage vendor relationships.
11. Monitor project progress, identify potential risks and issues, and implement corrective actions as needed to ensure project objectives are met.
12. Ensure compliance with building codes, regulations, and safety standards throughout the project lifecycle.
13. Prepare project reports and communicate project status updates to stakeholders.
14. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of retrofitting processes.
Experience and Skills Required
15. Accredited Domestic and Non-Domestic Energy Assessor
16. Registered Retrofit Coordinator (PAS2035)
17. A professional qualification such as RICS, RIBA or CIBSE
18. Consultancy experience and/or a background in Public Sector Housing Management at a senior level
19. Experience of using Energy Efficiency modelling software
20. Preferably an understanding or experience of preparing EPCs, collecting SAP data and PHPP reports
21. Strong knowledge of retrofitting principles, energy efficiency technologies, and sustainable building practices
22. Excellent leadership, communication, and commercial awareness.
