A vacancy has arisen for a Flight Sergeant / Chief Technician (Any profession) to serve as Flight Sergeant Cadet Training Team at RAF COSFORD on Full Time Reserve Service (Limited Commitment) Terms and Conditions of Service (TCoS), with an initial proposed start date of 02 February 2026. The post holder will support the Royal Air Force sections of Combined Cadet Force contingents within schools in Wales and the West of England, including their Cadet Forces Adult Volunteers (CFAV) and cadets. The post holder will be responsible to the RAFAC Regional Commandant, via the Regional COS and SO3 Training Support for the following in your AOR: Lead, manage, supervise and support the Cadet Training Team (CTT) SNCOs in your region, including their welfare and supporting their continuous professional development. Visit CCF (RAF) sections at least annually, to maintain strong working relationships with school leadership team and contingent staff, enabling the section’s health to be assessed, identity and discuss risks or issues with staff, and gain section assessment of RAFAC CFAV and CTT support. Support school CCF (RAF) sections through effective liaison with RAFAC staff, RAF stations in conjunction with parenting statements and ACLOs, RAFAC Regional and Wing HQs, Air Training Corps (ATC) units, Army Regional Brigades and staff, and equivalent RN/RM formations and staff. Advise and guide CCF (RAF) sections on planning and delivery of activities to meet the RAFAC aims around Air, Space and Cyber, through classification training and key blue awards in the Progressive Training Syllabus. Act as the Deputy Training Safety Advisor (TSA) under regional WO TSA, bringing resilience to that role and output, and assisting CFAV with advice on planning activities. As required, attend activities, potentially at some weekends (with TOIL available) to provide 1st party assurance of the activities, producing short written reports capturing the salient points. (shared programme with WO TSA). Assisting the SNCO CTT with advice and support to candidates on commissioning, WO and SNCO CFAV applications. Oversight of training and development of CFAV, and ensuring they maintain their CFAV mandatory currencies. The pursuance and coordination (alongside CFAV leads) of opportunities for integrated activities with the ATC and other cadet forces. As part of a team, assist with the planning, provision, coordination and delivery of support to UK and overseas camps, and of conferences, cadres, courses, expeditions and exercises, and competitions in your RAFAC region. Act on safeguarding matters with urgency and diligence. Uphold RAF values and standards, applying moral courage and good judgement. Any other tasks authorised by Regional Commandant, Regional COS or CCF (RAF) SO2 Policy.
