About the Role
We are recruiting a Payroll Advisor to run monthly payrolls for all businesses within the Group and provide efficient, professional service to all group companies and employees, in line with Group policies, procedures and UK legislation.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare and process all monthly payrolls, ensuring data accuracy and statutory compliance.
* Reconcile weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual payroll reports and provide payroll cost analysis.
* Work with the complex ERP system (Business World) and Microsoft Office for payroll processing.
* Advise internal customers on policies and procedures to ensure compliance.
* Maintain accurate records and complete required documentation according to SLAs.
Essential Criteria
* Knowledge of statutory payroll and pension legislation.
* Experience in a high-volume transactional payroll service.
* Strong numerical skills and attention to detail.
* Good IT literacy and ability to use ERP and Microsoft Office.
* Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Preferred
* Experience with a complex multi‑business payroll system (e.g., Business World).
* Formal payroll qualification (desirable but not required).

Working Conditions
The role is based in Preston and is fixed term until March 2026. Hybrid working is available and you will work a minimum of two days per week from the office.
