Project Manager – Substation Project
Location: Central Belt, Scotland
Type: Permanent / Contract (DOE)
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the delivery of a major substation project within the Central Belt of Scotland. This role offers the opportunity to work on critical infrastructure projects within the power and energy sector.
Key Responsibilities
*
Overall responsibility for the planning, execution, and successful delivery of the substation project
*
Managing programme, budget, quality, and safety performance
*
Coordinating subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams
*
Liaising with clients, DNOs/IDNOs, designers, and stakeholders
*
Ensuring compliance with CDM regulations, HSE standards, and industry best practice
*
Managing risk, change control, and reporting project progress
*
Leading site teams and promoting a strong safety culture
Requirements
*
Proven experience as a Project Manager on substation, power, or HV infrastructure projects
*
Strong understanding of electrical and civil works within substations
*
Relevant qualification in engineering, construction management, or similar
*
SMSTS and CSCS (or equivalent)
*
Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills
*
Full UK driving licence
Desirable
*
Experience working with SPEN, SSE, or National Grid projects
*
Knowledge of NEC contracts
*
Previous experience delivering projects in live substation environments
